Globally we are coming to terms with increasing environmental challenges, climate change and renewable energy solutions, the function of Chief Sustainability Officer has assumed its rightful place in the executive team. External market expectations, investors and other influential stakeholders requires the development and design of a business-aligned strategy, framework and plan that has as its focus to enhance the organisation’s reputation as a leader in sustainable business practice.
It is imperative that the function materially addresses the social and environmental footprint, including measurement and reporting, procurement, supply chain and modern slavery issues. Consumers and investors are quick to label a company as “Greenwashing” if they feel they are being deceived.
